The December 2016 preliminary statistics show the total number of private sector jobs increased from the comparable period of one year ago. Leading the industry job gains over the year are Hotels, up 260 and Retail Trade, up 870.


The Unemployment rate in Guam for September 2016 was 5.4 percent, an increase of 0.9 percentage points from the comparable period a year ago in September 2015 but a reduction of 2.2 percentage points from the 7.6 percent rate of two years ago in September 2014.
